Here is another question God possibly would ask you and I.
Do you know my plan is to make you as amazing as me.
I love this and it goes along the lines of he wants us to be like Him in this life. The underlying goal is that we are to transformed to be like Him. We often have trouble believing that is even remotely possible but when Jesus tells us this means that must be possible. He’s not talking about perfection but we are on this journey in this life to be conformed to His image. For instance, Jesus said love one another as I have loved you. What does that look like for us in reality. When Jesus told us how to pray, He started by saying Your kingdom come here on earth as it is in heaven. Or more literally. As it is in heaven let it be on earth. When we read this, we usually go to Gods power or miracles. In other words, there is no sickness in heaven so let there be no sickness on earth. Bring your healing power. But let’s realize in heaven there is no worry, anxiety unforgiveness, offenses, gossip, stress strive and tension anger and so and so on. So, to learn walk in love means none of these things are meant to be part of our lives. The trouble is most of us deep down don’t believe that and think that’s unreality but is it. Jesus himself tells us to love like He loved in this world not when we get to heaven. That means it must be a possibility. The trouble is most of us are still on the throne. Self-centeredness is still on the throne. We have not grasped what was actually accomplished at the cross by Jesus’ death and resurrection. We died that me might live in us and through us. This is not to condemn us and make us beat up on ourselves. but maybe we need to look at our we pray. Lord change me to make me more like you Jesus in every area of my life. As John Wimber always prayed, Lord let me grow up before I grow old. Everything God does in our lives and brings into our lives is towards that end. Don’t waste those opportunities and sabotage ourselves.
