Be filled with the Holy Spirit

I started a series on the Holy Spirit last sun. Looking at the role of the Holy Spirit and reminding us the Holy Spirit is a person and is equal with the Son and the Father and that he can be easily grieved and quenched. But the biggest thing is that we need to be baptised and continually filled with the Holy Spirit. Everything Jesus did was because He was continually filled with the Holy Spirit. He calls us live like he did. He asks us to do the impossible. Many times the church just does what it does with its own human ability. Ministries of mercy and practical love. They are not wrong. They are a powerful testimony. We are called to do good works of compassion but he has also called us to heal the sick, deliver people. Set people free. We can’t do those things in our own ability and strength. We need the power of the Holy Spirit. We owe the world and encounter with the living God. Jesus came to baptize people with the same Holy Spirit he was baptized in to do the same works he did. Come Holy Spirit. Full us afresh
