CASTING YOUR CARES

“So, here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Leave all your cares and anxieties at the feet of the Lord and measureless grace will strengthen me” Psalm 55:22

This is one of those precious keys or secrets to David’s life that he reveals some times in the psalms. He had the ability to come to God under incredible pressure at times and leave those burden’s, anxieties, cares and fears at the feet of God and in that moment was able to receive Gods measureless grace which was able to strengthen him to continue the journey. It doesn’t even mean the situation immediately changed or the pain disappeared. It was the fact that he was able to leave at the feet of God and for us its at the feet of Jesus. We need to be careful in prayer not to end up sucking God into our obsession and our despair and anxiety but never end up leaving it with Him. It says in 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all of your anxiety on him for he cares for you” To cast is like casting a fishing net. The real key is to leave it there and the question is do we have the faith and trust to really believe he has it and will sort it out for us or as soon as we walk away from prayer, we pick it up again.
