GODS COVENANT

‘I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery brothers so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved

Romans 11:25-26

And v 27 And this my covenant with them when I take away all their sins.

Part of Pauls Apostolic was to reveal some mysteries that were hidden in the OT. Namely that God purposely has hardened the hearts of the Jews until the full number of the gentiles would be saved and then all Israel would be saved. They will finally acknowledge Jesus as their Messiah.

God made several covenants with Israel. Some were conditional some were not. For instance, the Moses covenant was very much conditional of keeping of the law given at Mt Sinai. They failed miserably and that’s why they were sent into captivity and dispersed.  The covenant he made with Abraham was basically unconditional. He put Abraham to sleep when he made the covenant. It’s like God made a covenant with himself.  It was the giving of the promise land. The only condition he gave was that Abraham walk through the land in faith and obedience which he did. That covenant still stands. Therefore, it’s impossible for it to be broken.

Paul in v27 is quoting here from Jeremiah 31:33-38. Have a read. V35 states clearly that as long as the sun shines, the moon and stars shine and the sea roars and still exists will all the descendants of Israel ever cease to be a nation before me. You can’t get much clearer than that. That’s why Isael exists today in the land promised to them by God.  They will not be going anywhere. Impossible otherwise God would become a liar, regardless of what all the nations are screaming. The last time I looked the sun, stars and moon are still shining and the sea is still roaring. This settles any arguments and debates. God always has the final say.
