GODS FIERY LOVE

I was listening to the testimony of the actor who stared as Jesus in the passion of the Christ movie. He is a full-on Christian. During the movie. He asked the Lord to come with more of His love during the making of the movie. He said the Lord spoke to him and said I’m concerned if I did that you would not like me anymore. It broke his heart. I understood what he was saying. See Gods love is a consuming fire and exposes the heart. I experienced that once in Dannevirke when we were pastoring. Someone had a prophetic word about God was going to visit with his fire. God started coming in a powerful way. All hell broke loose because his fiery love began expose people’s hearts including mine. It got ugly really quick. It was only by God’s grace I survived and came out still intact. The clearest place in the scripture of this is with Moses. God came to Moses and said I will not go with you in the desert. I'll just send my angel otherwise my presence will destroy you. Moses interceded and said Lord I’m not going to do it unless you send your presence with us. God relented and said my manifest presence will go with you. What happened. They all died in the wilderness that whole generation. They rebelled against God. Complained even ended hating Him. See when he draws near with his fiery love like fire it exposes everything in our hearts, and we end up not even liking God. Wow. A warning indeed for us. His love is not what we think. It comes to purify, cleanse and expose. Sometimes he withholds himself back because he knows it can destroy us. He does it because of His mercy towards us. Very sobering indeed.
