GODS LOVE AND MERCY

“So lift your hands and give thanks to God for His marvellous kindness and for his miracles of mercy for those he loves. For he smashed through the heavy prison doors and shattered the steel bars that held us back just to set us free. Some of us were such fools bringing on ourselves sorrow and suffering all because of our sins” Psalm 107:15-17 Passion translation.

This is an awesome picture of Gods mercy and love towards us. He pursues us with His love. He smashes through heavy prison doors that we build around our hearts to protect ourselves and those invisible steel bars in our lives that keep holding us back and tripping us up. He is relentless and totally committed to setting us free from addictions, strongholds, destructive habits and besetting sins in our lives and demonic strongholds. He is the who initiates it we can’t set ourselves free no matter how hard we try. Later on in the psalm it says “Then we cried out Lord help us, rescue you us and He did” Many times he has to leave us until we get to the end of ourselves and we begin to cry out to him with everything we have. His love is like a mighty hurricane. He is like the hound of heaven. He pursues us relentlessly even when we make wrong choices and choose to try and run from Him and hide from Him. Sadly, some of us try and run for years before we cry out. So today cry out to the Lord to come and break into your life and deliver you from situations where you can’t even change yourself. His love and mercy are amazing. Let him bring you out from your prison of pain, rejection, sinful habits, strongholds, family shadows.
