LIVE LIKE JESUS

I listened to Dan Moller last week, and he talked about how he prays, and one thing he prays most days just really struck and challenged me. It was this ‘Lord let me live for what you paid for.’ It was so powerful. I remember hearing something similar several years ago, which goes like this: “Jesus, you are most glorified in me when you receive everything you paid for.”
The whole purpose of our lives is to become like Jesus. The end goal is heaven, but in this life, we are to become more like Him. It says in 1 John ‘Walk in the light as He walks in the light,” and then in 1 John 4:17 ‘As he is so we are in this world. We are meant to reflect Jesus in every area of our lives because Christ lives in us to empower and change us, so that we reflect him in our conduct and speech. Our attitudes toward loving other people. He didn’t give us his life for us to survive in this life and hang on until the end to go to heaven. He paid for everything so that we may walk in victory, overflowing with joy, manifesting the very life of Christ wherever we go and whatever we do. It comes out of the intimacy and relationship with him. There is a big difference between knowing about God and knowing God. We are to put off the old man and all its sinful practices and rotten attitudes, self-centredness, and put on the Lord Jesus Christ daily, which is being renewed in His image. A putting off and a putting on is a daily exchange taking place. Our life for his very life. We have to be careful about presenting and seeing the Gospel as being about us and about Jesus improving and making my life easier. We make it all about us when it's all about Him. He came to put us to death that he might live in us and through us by a totally surrendered life. To give our lives to Christ and to still live a totally self-centred life for ourselves is a total contradiction. Make these prayers a daily part of your life and the cry of your heart.
