LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS

“Let love and faithfulness never leave you, bind them around your neck, write them on the tablets of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man” Prov 3:3-4

This is an amazing passage with an amazing promise. Two characteristics that we need to bind around our neck and make a priority in our lives. The word love here is the Hebrew word Hesed. It’s the idea of loyal love that is shown in action. In other words, what you do. It is shown in our daily lives towards others. These are  2 attributes described in Exodus 34:6 when God passed by Moses on Mt Sinia proclaiming “The Lord, the Lord compassionate and gracious, God slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” We are meant to be reflecting God's character. Faithfulness is one of those things we don’t seem to talk about much, but it's an absolutely precious characteristic that brings God's favor. We should cherish and long for. Bind them around a neck, write them on hearts. It means a life that is marked by truth, integrity, dependability, loyalty, and reflecting God's character in everyday relationships. When you think about it, it's amazing when we appear before our Lord, when we pass from this life, the words we want to hear echoed from our Lord are “Well done. Good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your master.”
