overcoming temptation

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful, he will not let you be tempted beyond what you are able to bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand under it 1 Corith 10:13

Everyone has to face temptations. The only ones who don’t are those in a cemetery. So never think its just you. Everybody is in the same boat. But at the same time, you don’t have to succumb to temptation. Temptation is not sin yielding to it is. When you act upon it. It is something to be overcome.  Jesus is right with you at those moments cheering and smiling at you. Come on run to the battle you can do it. He is your greatest cheer leader. All temptations can be beaten. You just need to make up your mind you are going to be a conqueror and not the conquered. The devil will try and lure you in through your emotions and mind.  That’s what he targets. He’s had plenty of practice at it. Nearly 6000 years. He injects thoughts into your mind and emotion’s that act as stimulants to get you all stirred up in a certain area of your life and believe me he knows exactly where to stir you up and press your buttons. At that moment you are consciously aware that you can let that temptation pass you buy or you allow those thoughts to fester in your mind and take in your emotion’s. Until it becomes a stronghold in your mind. The devil is looking for a beach head or entry point to launch His attack. You have to learn to choose to put the breaks on. If you don’t like what you are thinking think a different thought. The devil is a master when it comes to mind manipulation.   The emotional make up of human beings makes us even more susceptible to the devils’ masterful skills of lying deception and manipulation. Satan waits for the right timing as well. Waits till you are tired, weary, exasperated and your guard is down.  He then tries to get you to bite the bate so he set the hook.  There is a way of escape. It means a way to walk out to flee from as far as possible. You are not stuck there. You can get out. You are the only one who can make the choice to jump through the escape hatch.
