Passion for Jesus

John 17:26

“I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them”

I always find this verse mind-boggling. Jesus is continually revealing the Father to us so that the same love the Father has for His own son may be in us. Wow, that we can love the Son like the father loves his son. That’s the level of intimacy the Father is calling us to. It must be possible otherwise Jesus would be a liar. What would that look like to be so consumed with love for Jesus with the same love of the father has for His own son? Wow, you can camp around this verse for a while. A well-crafted prayer could be ‘Holy Spirit impart to me a revelation of the Fathers love in my heart so that I could love your son Jesus as you love Him’ It can only come by revelation. What if we made this our great quest in life.
