PEACE AS AN UMPIRE.

“let the peace of God rule in in your hearts, since as members of one body you are called to peace” Colossians 3:15

A key and powerful verse to live by for 2021.

According to Rick Renner a Greek scholar and teacher the word to rule is a Greek word used in ancient times to describe the umpire or referee who moderated and judged the athletic competitions in the Roman games.

The peace of God is to work like an umpire or referee in our hearts and minds and hearts at all times. God’s peace is not something He dispenses out because God is peace. It’s who he is in His very essence. Jesus is the prince of peace. He’s a person and he lives in us. Peace is one of the fruits of the person of the Holy Spirit.

Its Gods supernatural peace (himself) dominating and governing our every emotion and situation that confronts us. If we don’t make daily decisions to allow His peace to be our umpire then worry, fear, anxiety, insecurity, fretfulness, agitation and doubt will assuredly take control of us. Every negative emotion will take control and dictate to us instead of His peace. And the end result, divisions, broken relationships, offences, disputes, fights, discord, disunity and so and so on. We all know when we step outside of Gods peace Shalom. The key is stop when you recognize that, take some time out and find Him who lives in you. Connect with His shalom. It’s a free gift. If you lose His peace guess who has moved. Deliberately bring your emotions your heart mind back under His under is amazing peace. Take some time right now and start to live a new way. He’s more than willing and waiting. Start by saying Lord I’m sorry for not walking in your peace forgive my sin of allowing my negative emotions to control me in this situation. I receive your peace as my umpire.
