pentecost is coming

Thank you to all those who helped with our Friday Passover and Sunday services. We appreciate all the hard work to set up, especially Friday night, and the scripture readings over the Lent period. The reason we did this was because we felt the Lord directed us to redeem back Easter and not allow it to be lost in our secular culture. It was so encouraging to see so many participating in the fasting, and I know that God will reward you because God says he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. God always responds to hunger.

The next big Christian event on the calendar is Pentecost Sun on June 8th. This marks the birth of the church by the coming of the promised Holy Spirit 50 days after Jesus' resurrection.

Jesus' command is given in the Book of Acts chapter 1: 4 Do not leave Jerusalem but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days, you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

V8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witness in Jerusalem. And in Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.

We all need to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and power, and not just once a year. The power is to be a witness. To testify to Jesus Christ with power.

Originally, the word baptized was used of putting a cloth in a huge pot of dye, and it was soaked in there until the dye soaked the whole cloth or garment. For us, it means being immersed in the person and power of the Holy Spirit. If there is one thing the church needs the most is a fresh Pentecost being filled with the HS, emersed with power and the presence of the HS to touch our communities. If we feel powerless and dry, this is the time to begin to pray Lord come again this Pentecost with fresh power to be your witness. The question to you all have you been filled with the Holy Spirit and power since you believed? If the answer is no, now is the time to begin to ask and hunger and thirst for it. Part of that is seeing the nine gifts being manifest because they are the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit.
