PREACHING THE GOSPEL

“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” Roman 1:16

On sun I talked about the restrainer in the earth that holds back the evil and even the coming of the antichrist. Part of the restraining force is the preaching of the Gospel. It’s the very power of God. In revivals the preaching of the Gospel takes centre stage and many people come to Christ which helps push back the powers of darkness and brings transformation. Part of our very existence on this earth is to preach the good news with boldness and conviction. We can never lose sight of that. There is a principle of sowing and reaping. If we want to see people saved and come to know Christ we have to sow the gospel. If we don’t, we won’t receive a harvest. It’s a spiritual principle. We place a lot of emphasis on prayer and rightly so and its good but we can pray as much as we like but if that is not mixed with sharing the Gospel we will never see a harvest. I remember when I first got saved, we preached the gospel openly sharing our faith on Thursday night at our local shopping centre. I did door to door. Went into the local hight school and help run the local Christian club. One Christmas we went to Pauanui for a 2 week outreach showing gospel films. doing drama and preaching.  The funny  thing about it was I realized I was useless at evangelism. I didn’t see any one get saved but we were a small group of zealous young people who just had a heart to share the Gospel. About 3 years later we reaped a harvest just out of the blue. Round about 60 young people got saved over a 2 or 3 month period. It was a God thing. He just brought them to us. I realized it was the fact God saw our hearts and zeal for him and a heart to see people come to Christ in all our weakness and fear. and he sent us a harvest. We reaped what we sowed.  The reality sitting in church on sun expecting people to walk through the door and get saved. is pretty delusional. The power of God is released through the power of the gospel. Gods message and plan has never changed for 2000 years. Presenting Jesus in our daily lives as we go about our daily business. Are we really serious about this Gospel. Think about how you came to Christ. Someone shared with you. Let’s get back to the basics. Have we sown to reap a harvest.   PREACHING THE GOSPEL
