QIICKENED ME

Psalm 119:25 says in the King James “quicken your word to me.”

In the NIV it says, “preserve my life according to your word” and in the passion Translation it says, “revive me according to your word” And then in the amplified it says, “Revive me and stimulate me according to your word”.

What’s interesting is that David uses that phrase 11 times in this psalm. Quicken me. Jesus said in John 6:63 “the words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.”

David understood the power of God's word. It’s the cure and only cure of all our needs and our ailments. God's word is life and Spirit and when he quickens it to us it brings life. It’s the power of the Holy Spirit living in us who takes God word and makes it alive in us. It increases Gods divine life within us. It's good to know what to pray for. This was the cry of David’s heart in this psalm. He mentions it 11 times. David desired quickening, more life, increased Life. In 2corith 4:11 it says that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. We need quickening every day. We need reviving every day. Jesus said come and drink from me every day so living waters may flow out of us. This sounds a good way to pray every day.
