SPIRIT OF FAITH

It is written: “I believed therefore I have spoken. With the same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak” 2 Corith 4:13

This is an interesting verse from Paul. He quoting from Psalm 116:10 which is a strange verse. It says I believed therefore I said I’m afflicted. Its David crying out in affliction and suffering in an attitude of faith that God hears him and will come and save.

Its exercising faith even in the midst of suffering and persecution. He’s speaking out of what he believes in difficult times. Paul says he is hard pressed on every side, but not crushed, perplexed but not in despair, persecuted but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus. Unbelievable. This when you know if your faith is real at all. In the midst of incredible hardship Paul’s confession of faith is absolutely staggering and amazing. What is our confession of faith like in the midst of trouble. None of us have experience what Paull went through. What was his confession based on. “Because we know that the one who raised Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus. And present us with in His presence.”

Oh, my oh my how far have we got to go. What is the confession of our mouth when the chips are down The Bible says our faith has to be tested to see if its real because its more precious than gold. For me most times I confess I have a spirit of doubt rather than a spirit of faith. A stunning verse indeed.
