THE GIFTS

“For in Him you have been enriched in every way – in all knowledge because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you. Therefore, you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed”

1 Corith 1:5-6

According to Corinthians these believers were loaded with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that’s why Paul spends so much time talking about how to move and function in the gifts. Rick Renner breaks this verse down in the Creek language. He translates v6 in this way

Everything you have heard and believed about Jesus Christ has been authenticated, proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, verified and guaranteed to be true because of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our lives and in the church are the signs that Jesus is active and real in our midst. The Holy Spirit wants to confirm everything you know about Jesus. He wants you to know Jesus the prophet, Jesus the healer, Jesus the miracle worker. When these gifts are flowing through our lives in our midst, they give testimony that Jesus is alive and well in our midst. Perhaps it’s your turn to step forth and allow the HS to work supernaturally through you. That’s why Paul says earnestly desire to move in the gifts. Maybe we grieve the Holy Spirit when we don’t desire, long for the gifts to function in our lives. Lord don’t pass us by because of our unbelief and reluctance and indifference in seeing the gifts operating through us each time we gather. Its supposed to be normal.
