You will watch a generation of Christians set the Bible aside it in an attempt to become more like Jesus. Stunningly it will sound completely plausible. This will be perhaps the cleverest of all the devils schemes in this generation. |Sacrifice truth for loves sake. And you will rise and fall based upon whether you will sacrifice one for the other. Will you have the courage to live in the tension of both truth and love?
Quote by Beth Moore.
I have talked about this quote before but it almost seem prophetic for this generation after hearing 2 prominent Christian leaders in the last few weeks renounce their faith and walk away from God because of this very issue. A worship leader and mega Pastor. There is a huge ditch on either side of these truths. Love without truth leads to comprise and embracing things that leads to judgement. That catchy phrase “Love wins in the end” sounds so noble but it’s not true. Love without the truth does not end well. Truth without love ends up in the opposite ditch. You end up a religious Pharisees incurring Gods judgement. Living in this tension is hard and costly. To speak the truth in love when God calls certain things sin and call it out as such is very difficult. Jesus lived it perfectly being perfect love and perfect truth. It lead him to the cross. Will it be any different for you and me.
