FAITH IN PRAYER

‘Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it and will be yours” mark 11:24

These are the very words of Jesus when it’s related to prayer. We know that prayer is our life line but just praying and praying with this sort of faith are two different things. Real faith is not asking for what God has already promised over and over and over again. Faith is believing the promise of God and therefore at some point must move to thanksgiving that you already have what you have requested from him according to the promises in His word despite your circumstances or what you feel. This it seems is what Jesus is saying here.

The key to faith is to find a promise from Gods word for your situation and then believe that promise in prayer. That I suggest will involve much more thanksgiving than even asking. Sometimes we have this mentality we have to somehow storm the gates of heaven to try to twist Gods arm to do something that he doesn’t want to do but that can end up just being unbelief.

Bill Johnson once said said when you pray for what you already have you never see the joy of been answered because you are not aware you already have the answer.

For example you might need peace in your life. Find a scripture about Gods peace for you and then ask him in faith confessing His promise back to Him with thanksgiving believing you have already received what he promised in His word. Faith is always an action word.

When you pray for what you already possess prayer becomes boring. Sometimes we just need to change our prayer to praise
