REIGN IN LIFE

“For if by the trespass of one man death reigned through the one man, how much more will those who receive God's provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man in Jesus Christ? Roman 5:17

What a powerful verse. According to this verse, because of Christ, we are meant to reign in all of life’s circumstances, not just to survive, but hardly keeping our head above water. The amplified version says to reign as Kings. This is not just true for the next life in eternity. We can begin to experience a measure of this while here on earth. We don’t have to be ruled by the devil, by sin, sickness, poverty, fear, and bondage, and overcome by our circumstances. The very notion of reigning carries with it the idea of ruling, of dominion, and of having authority. Where do Kings reign and rule? In their particular domain or Kingdom. Paul says we reign in life. In the life we have here and now.

How do we reign? By receiving God's abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness. They are free gifts from our father. Grace is far more than an undeserved favor. It is God's empowering presence to become all that God has called us to be. To overcome every situation, sin, bondage. Situations we face. That’s why God says we grow in grace and come boldly to His throne of grace to receive help in times of need. The gift of righteousness is described as the breastplate of righteousness or the cloak of righteousness. We are declared holy blameless and without accusation before the Father because Jesus clothes us with His righteousness. It protects our hearts from condemnation and allegations from the accuser of the brethren, the devil, who constantly reminds us of our failures. God can’t love you. You have just messed up again. You are not a real Christian. You will never change you are a failure. God never, never talks to you like that. Come and receive freely His gifts of abundance of grace and His righteousness so we can truly reign in life. Oh Lord open our eyes to see what we truly have in Jesus Christ
