THE HOLY SPIRITS PASSION FOR YOU

“or do you think Scripture says without reason that the Spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely’ James 4:5

This is always a challengingly verse and has several different translation’s.

The HS who lives who has been caused to make His permanent home in us has a passionate desire to control us to the point of envy over any control indwelling sin may have over us”

Rick Renner says it has the compelling idea, “The Spirit has an all-consuming and passionate desire to have more and more of us. In fact this desire to possess us is so strong that He literally yearns, craves, and pines after us”

It grieves and can even infuriate the person of the Holy Spirit when as believer’s we turn our devotion to the world and it drives Him to intense jealousy. Never forget the HS is our divine lover. He is preoccupied with you. He wants to possess you totally and he desires your affections to be set wholly on Him. The HS is not a passive partner. He actively pursues us. Take an inventory of your love life asking the HS to show you areas in your life where you have allowed your affection to be diverted from Him to other things.
