A PILLAR IN GODS HOUSE

“Therefore, my dear brothers stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know your labor in the Lord is not in vain” 1 Corith 15:58

Stand firm or be steadfast.

According to Rick Renner in his book Sparkling Gems the word steadfast has several meanings in the Greek language.

It means to be stationary, such as something that sits in one place for a long, long time.

It describes something that is firm and steady.

It was frequently used in connection with foundations or support structures in buildings.

It portrays something that is strong, unbendable, unbreakable and permanent such as a well-built foundation for a large building or a strong column that holds up a roof.

He’s calling us to be totally reliable, not shaky or undependable. God isn’t looking for something always flashy but just people who will stand and when you have done everything stand. Are you one of Gods pillars who he can depend upon rely upon year after year? Faithfulness is a quality that God loves in His people. Are you a rock in Gods house like a pillar that stands in its place and helps hold things together? That’s precious in His sight. You will be rewarded by the Lord in His time.
