PROMISES OF GOD

These are some thoughts from Graham Cooke on God's promises and how he sees them. I found it very encouraging. He originally gave it as a prophetic word.

God adores His promises and they are the currency of heaven. A promise is like a covenant with God. It's our assurance of His commitment to us and our agreement and affirmation with us. His promises are like His love that do not and cannot fail. The key is they require our declaration. The question God would ask constantly is do you believe the word I have spoken to you? The correct response to a promise is to bless the one who gave it and to affirm our commitment to His integrity and for us to expect its fulfilment in our lives in His timing. That’s activating our faith. You do that by rejoicing and declaring your trust in His faithfulness to His promise. He cannot lie. Some promises are for now some promises require faith and patience to inherit.

Patience is the art of embracing His joy so that you love the waiting on Him.

All the promises he gives you from His word is His absolute intentionality towards you. Promises empower you to become. Do not allow the problems around you to become greater than the promise within you. Testings will come to you. When you have a promise you can pass the test in front of you. A promise takes you out of survival mode. It removes the oppression from your circumstances to the provision of who he is for you and in you.

Pick up your declaration. Pick up His promises to you and declare your intention to Him. Proclaim to the opposition in your flesh. Hands off that’s mine. Confess in your circumstances that belong to me I'm picking it up. Talk about yourself in the way He talks about you in heaven. If you don’t have any promises ask Him to give you several promises from His word and wait and listen in peace. If you have promises return to them and speak them daily back to God with thanksgiving, praise, and rejoicing. Be wholehearted and deliberate. This is the art of warfare and how we grow. This is a good way to have a devotional time with the Lord. Just speak back His promises you back to Him.
