“Never give place to the devil” Ephesians 4:27
This is taken from Rick Renner’s book “Sparkling Gems.” It’s so good so Ill just use His teaching on it. Theres no point in reinventing something that is so good.
The word place refers to a specific marked off geographical location. This lets us know the devil is after every zone and region of our lives – money, health, marriage, relationships, employment, business and ministry.
We need to make sure we shut every door, close every window and seal every place through which the enemy through which the enemy will try and gain access. One of the main entry points is through relationships, unresolved issues or ugly conflict points often become the entry point for the devil and us humans fall for his tricks every time. He gets through these cracks and builds offenses in our mind. And a wall begins to form and be constructed between people and sperate us from the people we are meant to love the most and even from the church itself. I have seen this played out over and over again in people’s lives. To start this campaign, he has to find an entry point to begin to unleash his devilish destruction in our lives. What are these entry points
Refuse to let go of old wounds and offenses.
Refuse to acknowledge what we did was wrong.
Refuse to forgive others for what they did.
Refusing to stop judging others for their grievances.
Refuse to admit we were wrong too.
Refuse to say “I’m sorry” when we are wrong
Refuse to lay it down our rights for others.
All these lead to offenses and basically it means we are on the throne and have become self-centred not Christ centred. Can you imagine Jesus acting like this. Its a amazing how we quickly justify ourselves and excuse our sinful attitudes. And shift the blame to some one else. It’s their fault. They hurt me, they said this to me. They treated me wrong. Next minute the devil has you trapped in His web. True freedom is when you are dead in Christ and your life is hidden in Christ in God. You owe nothing to anybody except love That’s true freedom. Your life is no longer defined by what other people do or say to you. Wow. That’s what it means to become truly Christ like. We are all on this journey.
