OUR IDENTITY

“But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in His sight without blemish and free from accusation – if you continue in your faith…”

Colossians1:22-23

This is such a powerful verse and foundational truth to live by and walk in. It says we have been reconciled back to the Father through Jesus' death and resurrection. He presents us to the Father Holy without blemish and free from any accusations or condemnation, which means unaccused as if you have never sinned. It is a present reality whether we believe it or not. It is an unchanging reality. Because we are in Christ, we stand before the Father holy in His sight, without any blemish and no sense of feeling accused or condemned. We are absolutely loved and accepted in the beloved. Every morning, we should wake up with this reality and declare that we are holy, without blemish, and free from all accusations before our Father. That gives us confidence and boldness to walk in a relationship with Him. It means we don’t have to be tossed to and throw and go up and down when we sin or fail. We can confess our failures, knowing that because we are in Christ, we are forgiven and accepted. It's not dependent upon us or our performance. It’s based on the finished work of Christ. We have died, our life is hidden in Christ with God, as it says in Colossians 3:3. No wonder Paul prays in Ephesians that the eyes of our heart may be enlightened that we would know Him better. We shall know the truth, and the truth shall set us free. It is knowing the truth in who we are in Christ that sets us free. It might sound cheesy, but each morning, look in the mirror and just declare I’m totally loved and accepted by you, I’m holy without blemish, blameless in your sight, and have no condemnation, totally unaccused because of Jesus. Just totally loved. Thank you for loving me.
