WHAT ARE YOU SOWING

Be not deceived, God is not mocked: For whatever a man soweth that shall he reap Galatians 6:7

This principle is played out daily all around the world. It talks about in Romans Gods wrath is been poured out (continual tense) You have to realize God in His mercy very rarely directly intervenes with His wrath. If He did many of us possibly wouldn’t be here. His wrath is working in peoples live and our society by the simple principle of sowing and reaping. If we sow to sin, we reap the consequences in our own lives eventually and our family lines. We can see the consequences even in our land of NZ been played out every day in people’s lives.

Paul is warning the Galatian believer’s do not be deceived. It means do not be led astray; to wander to stagger; to be led off course or to be affected by someone’s outside influence and led in the wrong direction. It depicts the activity of false teachers leading believers astray with so called progressive Christianity or wokeness. It could be translated ‘stop being deceived.’ He was rebuking a weakness that was developing among these believers. Could it be these false teachers were trying to tell these believer’s that the law of reaping and sowing didn’t really work.

Paul states emphatically God is not mocked. Which means to turn up your nose at someone - here its God. Mocking or laughing. It’s like saying come on don’t be so stupid, you don’t believe in that principle of reaping and sowing do you. How stupid to believe God will multiply what you sow This attitude can happen amongst believes who have sown materially with finances and for some reason they didn’t get the results they anticipated and so they act if isn’t true anymore and so turns His nose up against God.

The word sow refers to any seed sown. Its applicable to everything in life not just finances. It applies to love, work, patience kindness forgiveness bitterness and so on. We have just done a series on the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. Whatever you sow into you will reap a harvest that’s a guarantee.

The word reap could be translated ‘You will reap, reap, and reap and keep on habitually reaping and reaping. So, what are you habitually sowing into your life. Keep habitually sowing good seed and you will you will eventually reap Gods blessings in His timing in due season and in His way because He is faithful. Do not go grow weary in well doing for you will reap if you do not faint.
